My world of Botanical Painting

Picture
I took botanical painting classes at Royal Botanical Garden Melbourne with Mali Moir in 2005 after visiting Biannual Botanical Illustration Exhibition and bought three paintings. I was very clear then that I would like to paint myself.

The Arches Watercolor 300gsm cotton paper is used with all my artwork. I use only Winsor & Newton Artists' Water Colour  to ensure the quality of the paint.

While living away from home,  I purchased  the Volume I, II and III  of Botanical Painting in Watercolour in DVD from Helen Fitzgerald.  I started to put my paint brushes in use again after a few years overseas . I managed to finish three paintings when I worked full time in Country Victoria.  Two of three paintings were drawn of  gum trees which grow at Wycheproof Golf Course. The paintings were exhibited in Charlton Art Show on 12-15 Oct. 2012 and then at Wycheproof Show on the 17th Oct 2012, Two of the three paintings won for the first prize and the second prize in the show. It was very encouraging!
